Dr. Amelia Knight Pinkston is a veterinarian, health, life, and leadership coach, consultant, speaker, and founder of Life Boost with Amelia.

After earning her VMD from the University of Pennsylvania in 2014, Amelia began her career in small-animal general practice. About five years in, despite believing she was being proactive about preventing burnout, she realized she was experiencing it herself.

Burnout sparked a curiosity that has shaped her work ever since.

Why do so many driven, caring people work so hard to do everything “right,” yet still struggle to feel well, fulfilled, or successful? What is happening within the individual and the environment they’re in, and what needs to change?

Amelia continued practicing while exploring those questions through training in behavior change, integrative health, nervous-system regulation, and related mind-body approaches. Her clinical work in small-animal general practice, urgent care, and relief ultimately took her across more than 30 veterinary hospitals and different models of care. That gave her a broad view of how leadership, culture, workload, communication, systems, and business realities shape the experience of veterinary medicine.

Today, she helps veterinary professionals, practice owners, leaders, and teams understand and address what is driving stress, frustration, burnout, and friction so they can live and work in healthier, more sustainable ways.

For Amelia, preventing burnout is only part of the goal. The bigger opportunity is to design a new norm in veterinary medicine where people, patients, clients, and practices can thrive together.
